Take it Local!
Spread the ADHD Awareness Message
in Your Community.
Use ADHD Awareness Month to join the ADHD Community in spreading the facts, rebutting the myths, and giving hope to adults and children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder!
Use ADHD Awareness Month to let your friends and family, your school, work, and community members know that there is a movement that spreads the facts and rebuts the myths about Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
ADHD has been recognized as a real medical disorder by all mainstream scientific organizations. It is not a function of bad parenting or an excuse for bad behavior. It affects people of all ages, ethnicities, and genders. Treatment help can significantly improve the lives of those affected.
Actions you can take this week to help raise ADHD Awareness in your community.
- Go to the ADHD Awareness Month site to find a local or online event. Participate in the event and encourage family and friends to do so too!
- Create your own activity by arranging for a bookstore or library display, presenting at a community meeting, school, or faith-based group.
- Share the facts on the prevalence of ADHD in your community by emailing this link or downloading and sharing this fact sheet from the ADHD Awareness Month Coalition.
- Contact your local newspaper and inform them of ADHD month and ask for their participation (see sample letter here). We also have a number of ADHD experts on standby for press requests as needed.
