Unmasking My Adult ADHD: A Journey to Awareness and Acceptance

sebFor years, I navigated life through a fog of disorganisation – missing deadlines, juggling endless to-do lists, and constantly battling the feeling of falling short. Despite my best efforts, I could never quite keep up. It wasn’t until adulthood that I finally received an answer: ADHD @ 37. The diagnosis was a mix of relief and shock, offering clarity but also raising more questions.

I began to reflect on my past struggles – academic challenges, a restless energy that often disrupted my days, and the difficulty of staying focused on tasks that seemed simple for others. Suddenly, everything clicked. I realised how easy it is for late-diagnosed ADHD to hide in plain sight, especially in adults who’ve spent years masking symptoms.

Seeking treatment became a turning point, helping me understand ADHD’s nuances and the impact it’s had on my life. Now, I share my story, hoping to shed light on this often – misunderstood condition and inspire others to seek the clarity and support they need.
