The Cerulean Letter

girl with umbrella and a D on her shirtBorn with a disability
That no one could see
Tho she struggled
A value, she’d be
While no one knew
She grew and she flew
Until one day
“I have a disability,” she’d say
Her fellow peers supported her
While those with power opposed her
Micro aggressions they’d fully embraced
Discrimination she’d unprecedentedly face
No consequences or accountability
For such actions of biased instability
Her dreams were shattered
Her brain was scattered
The world she knew was no longer the same
Life as she knew it was simply a game
The love she once felt had dwindled away
And in its place was hate to stay
She yearned for such a sense of belonging
Compassion and acceptance she was desperately longing
Can she ever go back to the life she once knew?
Or forever it’s changed by this rainy haze of blue
